Lazy Ear Performance Horses

Grant and Erin have been involved in horses before they could even say the word “horse”!

Erin began riding at the age of two and not before long she was competing at gaming and pleasure classes in the 4-H horse program at the county fair. During her 4-H years she won numerous trips to compete at the Minnesota State Fair. Erin continued to show her horses in bigger venues and eventually ventured into other areas of performance classes such as: team penning and team sorting. She has won two buckles team sorinting. One in 2006 and the other on their stallion, Strait Firewater, in 2008. Erin has won many awards throughout her years of riding whether that was at local shows and jackpots or at the State Champ Show. Currently Erin is competing at jackpots, WSCA events and rodeos to earn points towards the Minnesota Barrel Racing Association; where she finished in the top 10 in 2005, 2006 & 2007. She also enjoys teaching riding lessons and will be hosting a gaming clinic in 2008.

Grant was also very young when he started riding. He enjoyed attending over night trail rides and gaming events with his family in his early childhood. It was not too long before he was training his own horses and then started training outside horses at the age of 14. Grant has been a member of the Minnesota Men’s Barrel Racing Association for 6+ years. He finished second in year end standings in 2005 and was in the top 10 in 2006 and 2007. At the 2006 Midwest Match Race, Grant finished 3rd in the Average on Silver and 4th in the Average on Thaya. The MMBRA team took 2nd place in 2006 and was 1st in 2007! Grant has been competing at the Minnesota Championship Show for many years and has placed in numerous gaming events. He also won a buckle on his gelding Star Ofa Diamond during the 2008 Spring Team Sorting League. Grant still enjoys working with young horses, which is his current focus, and has recently started doing farrier work with Glen Strube.

Whatever venue it may be; trail riding, team sorting, or barrel racing, Grant and Erin have a proven track record of being dedicated and successful in training and showing performance horses and will continue this dream together as they move into the future!
